They might as well have said that white people like books, traveling or higher education. So why is this blog any different? Is it because white people are supposed to be the only group capable of being racist? Or are immune to racism? Or the only one deserving of criticism (sorry - “good-natured spoofing”)? This is hardly innovative humor, you know.
Can you feature the shit-storm of righteous indignation that would rain down upon me? Or if I proclaimed “white is beautiful” (instead of the approved “black is beautiful”) or “long live the white race” (rather than the allowed “viva la raza!”)? Imagine if I, as a white guy, started a blog called “Stuff Black People Like”, and filled it with watermelon, fried chicken, dancing, gold teeth, cheap beer, pimping, etc. They must show themselves in order to expose themselves to similar ridicule or they’re just as dishonest as a Klansman hiding behind his hood. There’s a rule amongst humorists who externalize their humor: it’s called “full disclosure”. From reading it, I suspect that it’s by a non-Japanese Asian guy (Korean would be my first guess). But this blog is almost certainly NOT by a white person, which to my mind, makes it at least subtly racist. I’m not too defensive to be able to take a joke, or valid criticism.
